Biology Trail
![]()
Located on the “backside” of Southern Adventist University’s 1000+ acre campus, the Biology Trail is actually a labyrinth of over ten miles of trails, stretching from the lowest point of the valley to the ridgetop overlooking the University. The trail system is perfect for walkers, hikers, mountain bikers, and cross-country trail runners, with sections of varying difficulty making it suitable for everything from a lazy meander to a muscle-toning endurance workout. (Go to http://www.mtbr.com/trails/Tennessee/BiologyTrail.html for mountain biking reviews.) The pine and hardwood forest through which the trails wind is also a paradise for the nature enthusiast, with wildflowers, birds, a creek habitat, and many other fine, natural features. And for the avid Geocacher, the Biology Trail is host to a whole treasure trove of exciting caches. (Don’t know what we’re talking about? Go to Geocaching.com.)
The Biology Trail is maintained by the Biology Department. For more information, contact the Biology Office at 423-236-2926 or 1-800-SOUTHERn. Biology department website.
