What does AACC stand for?

American Association for Christian Counselors

Mission Statement:

AACC is committed to assisting Christian counselors and the entire 'community of care', licensed professionals, pastors, and caring church members with little or no formal training.  It is our intention to equip clinical, pastoral, and lay care-givers with Biblical truth and psycho-social insights that minister to hurting persons and help them move to personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability, and spiritual maturity.

Who are the Members of AACC?

AACC is committed to assisting Christian counselors, whether those counselors are licensed professionals or caring church members with little or no formal training.  Professionals include psychiatrists, psychololgists, social workers, licensed counselors, and others who have advanced training in one of the mental health professions.

Member Benefits:

Affiliation with other Christians, magazine subscription to Christian Counseling Today, newsletter subscription to Christian Counseling Connection, Marriage & Family: A Chirtian Journal, Counseling CD's, Preferred Pricing, and more.

About AACC Student Chapters:

AACC wants to help you experience the value of participating with other counseling professionals early in your educational experience and career.  We will keep you abreast of the latest developments in the field of Christian Counseling.  Every participant in AACC Student Chapters must be a member of AACC.   To make this easier, AACC will dramatically reduce annual student dues from $89.00 to only $39.00 per year.

Benefits for Students:

As a student member you will receive all the benefits of a regular membership, plus:

  • discounted Student Liability Insurance
  • significantly reduced fees for Student Chapter members at all AACC Conferences (Student Chapter members can attend regional conferences for $49)
  • the opportunity to meet and interact with area professionals (These are the professionals and agencies you will be interviewing for, and working with, as you graduate)
  • the ability to stay abreast of what is currently happening in the field of Christian Counseling.  This would include the practices, ethics, and theories that are on the "cutting edge" of the profession.
